Committee Reports

Building and Grounds

Transformation: PD reported that MVM Construction LLC and Lothrop and Associates had obtained four estimates for abatement of asbestos tiles discovered during demolition in the main building and were ready to proceed with the lowest bidder.  LE reported that the abatement and air quality testing will require a full closure of the library from 2/11/16-2/14/16.  Following discussion, JM made a motion, seconded by JC, to approve the following resolution, which the Board then passed unanimously:

Resolved, that in order to proceed with the Library Transformation Project, the Board of Trustees of the Larchmont Public Library hereby approves a proposed change order to the Transformation Project contract between the Larchmont Public Library and MVM Construction LLC, dated December 9, 2015, for asbestos abatement as described in such change order, not to exceed $30,000 for the abatement and related air quality testing.

Board Chair Dubitsky adjourned the meeting at 10 a.m. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board will be held on February 10, 2016.

Respectfully submitted,
Laura Eckley
Library Director
