Minutes of Meeting

July 10, 2024

The Larchmont Public Library Board of Trustees met on July 10, 2024, attended by Library Board Chair Lauren Gottfried (LG), Library Trustees Jill Brennick (JB), Galit Lopatin Bordereau (GLB), and Celeste Sharpe (CS), Town of Mamaroneck Liaison Sabrina Fiddelman, Friends of Larchmont Library Director Ellie Berlin (EB), Library Director Laura Eckley (LE), and Library Staff Assistant Janet Regan (JR). Village of Larchmont Liaison Dana Post (DP), and Library Trustees Barbara Flickinger (BF), Barbara Liptack (BL), and Linnet Tse (LT) were absent.

Library Board Chair LG called the meeting to order at 6:33pm.

Minutes

The Board unanimously approved the minutes for the 6/12/24 Library Board Meeting.

Friends

EB reported that the FOL’s annual Emedia campaign has kicked off and a generous donation of $10k was received. LG thanked the FOL for their ongoing support of to the Library.

Committee Reports

Finance

Schedule of Bills and Performance Report: The Board unanimously approved the schedule of bills and the additional lists of bills dated 7/10/24.

The Board unanimously approved Board Chair LG to authorize bill payments for August 2024.

Facilities

LE reported on facility issues including an additional repair that needs to be made to the Library’s Lower Level compressor and a repair made to the rooftop chiller. LE further reported on misc. seasonal building maintenance tasks items including window washing and bench sanding and oiling.

Director’s Report

LE reported that the Library had recently received the balance of State Aid for FY23/24 and a summer reading program grant from WLS. LE further reported on recent programs including the annual stuffed animal sleepover, a mini art fair in the Children’s Room, and a Reader’s Advisory Program presented by Librarian’s Alex Neceda and Caroline Cunningham. LE reported that a new pass to the Bruce Museum will be added to the Library’s Museum Pass Program this month. LE further reported on upcoming events including visits from the South East Consortium for Special Services and a drive by the NY Blood Bank.

Meeting adjourned at 7:02pm. The next scheduled Board Meeting will be held on 9/11/24 at 6:30pm.
