November 10, 2021
The Larchmont Public Library Board of Trustees met on November 10, 2021, attended by Library Board Chair Lauren Gottfried (LG), Board Trustees Barbara Flickinger (BF), Celeste Sharpe (CS), and Linnet Tse (LT) Library Director Laura Eckley (LE), Library Head of Reference Liam Hegarty (LH) Library Staff Member DJ Brucciani (DB), Village of Larchmont Liaison Dana Post (DP) and Friends of the Library Liaison Jennifer Rabina (JR). Trustees Barbara Liptack (BL), John McGarr (JM), Galit Lopatin Bordereau (GLB) and Town of Mamaroneck Liaison Jeffery King (JK) were absent.
Board Chair Lauren Gottfried called the meeting to order at 6:50pm

The Board unanimously approved the Library Board Minutes for 10/13/22.
Friends
JR reported on upcoming FOL programs from December 2021 through January 2022. JR further reported that the FOL Annual Appeal will be sent to all of 10538 before the end of the year.
Committee Reports
Schedule of Bills and Performance Report: The Board unanimously approved lists of bills dated 11/8/21 and 11/10/21.
LE reported that the Finance Committee presented a preliminary draft of the FY22/23 Library Budget to members of the TOM Board.
Building and Grounds
LE reported that the HVAC Project has punch list work remaining and that the replacement glycol has been delivered and installed. After discussion, the Library Board voted unanimously to use their powers of emergency repairs authorization to approve a proposal by Atlantic Westchester to reinsulate piping throughout the Lower Level at a cost not to exceed $15,548.50, the cost of which will be covered by Library Capital Funds.
LE gave an update on the Library’s insurance claim for damage sustained during Hurricane Ida and reported that the Facilities Committee had met to review the newly proposed layout of the lower level. After discussion, the Library Board voted unanimously to use their powers of emergency repairs authorization to approved proposals by RENU to repair the Lower Level at a cost not to exceed $88,274.21, the cost of which will be covered by reimbursement from the Library’s insurance company.
Director’s Report
LE updated the Board on current Library services. LE reported that some programs had been restored to in person and indoors, including movies, and that Children’s Programs would be held indoors starting in December. LE reported that she had accepted the resignation of DJ Brucciani. The Board thanked DJ for his hard work and commitment to the Library during the pandemic.
Additional Items
LG thanked CS and GLB for assisting with updating the Library Collection Development Policy and reported that it would be presented for approval at the January 2022 Library Board Meeting. At the request of LE the Library Board unanimously approved a list of items to be deleted from the Library’s 2021 Equipment List.
