Larchmont Public Library

Board of Trustees

Minutes of Special Meeting

November 1, 2013

The Larchmont Public Library Board of Trustees met in the Village Center on November 1, 2013 at 7:45 a.m., attended by Board Chair Pamela Dubitsky, Trustees Jennifer Conley, Lauren Gottfried, Maureen LeBlanc, John McGarr and Iven Taub, Library Director Laura Eckley, Village of Larchmont Liaison Marlene Kolbert and Town of Mamaroneck Liaison Jaine Eney.  Trustee Barbara Liptak participated by cell phone.

Board Chair Dubitsky called the meeting to order at 7:47 a.m.  She stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possible allocation of the Village Center, located in the building at 119 Larchmont Avenue, from the Village of Larchmont to the library, noting that if the Village Center were allocated to the library, it would be managed by the library staff and included in the library budget.

The members of the Board discussed the benefits and responsibilities of such allocation, concluding that Board Chair Dubitsky should send a letter to the Mayor of the Village of Larchmont requesting that the Village Board allocate the Village Center to the library.

Board Chair Dubitsky thanked everyone for participating and adjourned the meeting at 9:03 p.m.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board will be held on November 13, 2013.

Respectfully Submitted,

Laura Eckley

Library Director
