Minutes of Meeting
February 8, 2023
The Larchmont Public Library Board of Trustees met on February 8, 2023, attended by Library Board Chair Lauren Gottfried (LG), Jill Brennick (JB), Galit Lopatin Bordereau (GLB), Barbara Flickinger (BF), Barbara Liptack (BL), Celeste Sharpe (CS) and Linnet Tse (LT), Town of Mamaroneck Liaison Abby Katz, Friends of Library President Melisa Prevost (MP), Library Director Laura Eckley (LE) and Library Staff Assistant Janet Regan (JR). Village of Larchmont Liaison Dana Post (DP) was absent.
Board Chair Lauren Gottfried called the meeting to order at 6:45pm.
Minutes
The Board unanimously approved the minutes for the 1/11/22 Library Board Meeting.
Friends
MP reported on the FOL annual appeal, their recent successful trivia night and the return of the Spelling Bee in April. LG thanked the FOL for their ongoing support of the Library.
Committee Reports
Schedule of Bills and Performance Report: The Board unanimously approved the schedule of bills dated 2/8/23 and the additional list of bills dated 2/8/23.
Building and Grounds
LE reported on building repairs and maintenance including; a repair to the front door’s automatic opener, the installation of additional panic buttons throughout the building and the anticipated delivery of the remainder of shelving and furniture for the lower level this month.
Director’s Report
LE reported that work on the NYS Annual report has begun and Librarian Paul Doherty is now assisting with the completion of the report. LE further reported that Librarian Alex Neceda is working on the resumption of the Library Volunteer Program and the institution of a new jigsaw puzzle lending program. LE additionally reported on upcoming programs at the Sound Shore Libraries hosted by CURE.
Additional Items
Following discussion the Board voted unanimously to approve an amended Facilities Policy.
The Board voted unanimously to enter into Executive Session to discuss the collective bargaining agreement with the Library’s CSEA Unit at 7:20pm. The Board voted unanimously to exit Executive Session at 8:20pm.
Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm. The next scheduled Board Meeting will be held on March 8, 2023 at 6:45pm.
