Unattended Child Policy

The Larchmont Library strives to create a fun and safe environment for children. Responsibility for children using the Library rests with their parent/guardian or caregiver, not the Library staff.
Children up to and including age 10 must have a parent/guardian or caregiver in visual contact with the child at all times.
Parents/guardians and caregivers must make arrangements to pick up older children by Library closing time. No child can be left at the library after closing time.
Parents/guardians are reminded that, even in their absence, they are legally responsible for their children.
This policy was adopted by the Board of Trustees on October 13, 2021.
