Larchmont Takes Second Place in Battle of the Books

Congratulations to the Larchmont Library, who took second place in the annual Battle of the Books competition held over the weekend on Saturday, October 26th, in Ossining, NY. Battle of the Books is a book based trivia competition between public libraries in Westchester County. Librarians Kim and Caroline coached the teen division this year. The 2024 participants include

Sonali B (10th grade), Sophie L (10th grade), Millie D (10th grade), Jack K (7th grade), and Adrian K (7th grade). The trivia questions were based on five books that were preselected by the Battle of the Books committee. The teens had to read and study trivia from each book. Earning first place in their division, Larchmont went up against the first place winner in the other division, Briarcliff Public Library in the finals. Although they ended up falling to Briarcliff 11-8, we are so proud of them for making it that far. Well done!
