What’s the LPL Staff Reading This Week?

When the staff at the Larchmont Library isn’t busy working, there’s a good chance they might be… you guessed it- reading! We rounded up a few staff members to see what books they’re reading this week. And of course, all of these titles are available through the library as books, eBooks and eAudiobooks.

Laura Pizzuti- Counting Miracles by Nicholas Sparks was an easy, enjoyable read. I liked all the characters, the pace of the story and the ending. If you are a fan of other Nicholas Sparks books, this one does not disappoint!

Eugenia Nikolopolou- All Fours by Miranda July is a sexy, tender, hilarious and surprising novel about a woman upending her life. A semi famous artist announces her plan to drive cross-country from LA to New York. Twenty minutes after leaving her husband and child at home, she spontaneously exits the freeway, settles down in a nondescript motel and immerses herself in a temporary’ reinvention’ that turns out to be the start of an entirely different journey.

Caroline Cunningham- The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins teaches you how to make the words, “Let Them” free you from anxiety, others’ opinions and judgements while allowing you to take control of your life.
Linnea Moosmann- Her Side of the Story by Alba de Céspedes uses the backdrop of World War II and the Italian anti-fascist movement to explore female agency and the challenges of navigating romantic relationships within a patriarchal system. Originally published in 1949, the themes remain relevant today.
Alex Neceda- Intermezzo by Sally Rooney started off so slow for me. I was wondering when it would ‘pick up’ and when it finally did, I remember why I love reading Sally Rooney so much. I read Normal People when it came out and watched the series on Hulu- I loved them both. Rooney has a way of making her storylines flow so well and some of her characters are relatable.
