We are now the proud possesors of all the major New York State tax forms and instructions. As usual, they are neatly stacked and displayed in the Reference Room. We also have the Federal 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ forms. We are not going to get anything else from the IRS. No instructions, no schedules, nothing else. We can help you get them however.
So what should you do about the Federal forms, instructions, schedules, etc.?
You have three options:
- view and download the forms, schedules, instructions, etc. online from IRS.gov/Forms (If you are going to print them here at the Library we will still have to charge you $00.15/page, just like every other print job).
- Order the forms online for delivery by mail at IRS.gov/orderforms. You can order 10 different forms and the relevant instructions are automatically included. Allow 7-15 days for delivery.
- Order by phone at 1-800-829-3676. Presumably the delivery period will be at least as long as online ordering.
The Reference Librarians will help you in any way they can, but bear in mind they are not tax professionals and cannot give tax advice. Thus they can help you order your forms from the IRS site, but they cannot tell you which forms you should order.
We are trying to figure out some way of circulating instructions for a short period of time if we can get our hands on some. If we do, we’ll post an announcement on the home page.
