Mental Health Help

• 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline -Formally the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. 24/7 Dial 988 for help The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals in the United States.
• NYS Office of Mental Health New York State has a large, multi-faceted mental health system that serves more than 700,000 individuals each year. The Office of Mental Health (OMH) operates psychiatric centers across the State. OMH also regulates, certifies and oversees more than 4,500 programs, operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies.
• National Alliance on Mental Illness Westchester Crisis and Prevention Response team (914) 925-5959 or text “NAMI” to 741741 NAMI Westchester is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  We are a grassroots organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all individuals and families whose lives are affected by mental illness and co-occurring disorders.  NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, support and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community of hope for all those in need.  We offer the kind of understanding and care that only those who have lived the experience of mental illness can provide.
• Larchmont/Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center at 914-698-7549 A public, non-profit, organization that provides affordable, confidential, and state-of-the-art counseling and crisis intervention, parent education and prevention services to young people and families in the Larchmont and Mamaroneck communities.

Domestic Violence Help

• My Sister’s Place 24/7 Domestic Violence Hotline (800) 298-7233 My Sisters’ Place strives to end domestic violence and human trafficking by providing free education, outreach, and confidential supportive and legal services, throughout Westchester County, NY.

• Child Protective Services 1-800-342-3720 
• WJCS Crime Victims Advocacy Support Services Program (CVASSP) 24/7 HOTLINE: 1-800-405-3991 provides free advocacy to residents of Westchester County who have been the victim of any crime (this includes, but is not limited to, domestic violence, sex and labor trafficking, hate crimes, DUI crashes, sexual assault, child abuse, burglary). 

Veterans Affairs

• U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs VA has a variety of mental health resources, information, treatment options and more — all accessible to Veterans, Veterans’ supporters and the general public.
• Veterans Crisis Line Dial 988 then press 1. 24/7 confidential crisis support for veterans and their loved ones.
• Make the Connection Veterans and their loved ones talk about talk about their experiences, challenges, and recovery.

Legal Help

• Legal Hand Westchester at Call or Text 914-425-5483 At Legal Hand Call-in Centers, trained community Volunteers, who are not lawyers, provide free information, assistance, and referrals to help you resolve issues that affect your life, in areas like employment, housing, family, immigration, domestic violence, and public benefits and prevent problems from turning into legal cases. You can contact the Legal Hand Call-In Center by telephone, text, email, and chat. We can also meet with you by video. There are no eligibility requirements, and all are welcome.

Food Assistance

• Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force at (914) 698-3558 We are an all-volunteer organization of concerned citizens dedicated to assisting local families who need food. We operate a food pantry that distributes nutritional bags of groceries to residents of Larchmont and Mamaroneck.
• Feeding Westchester food locator at 914.923.1100–Our mission is to nourish our neighbors in the fight against hunger. We envision a community where all people have access to the food they need today, and the fundamental resources to build a better tomorrow.
• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program at 914.909.9618 (SNAP) issues electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food. SNAP helps low-income working people, senior citizens, the disabled and others feed their families. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income and other factors.
• Meals on Wheels New Rochelle at 914-576-3865 In New Rochelle, Meals-on-Wheels is available to any qualified homebound person, regardless of age or income for as long as needed. This program serves people who require prepared meals due to permanent or temporary frailty, illness or disability thus enabling them to remain in their own homes.

• Community Resource Center at 914-835-1512 Community Resource Center (formerly Hispanic Resource Center) is a 501 (c)(3) community-based organization founded in 1998 to empower immigrant and low-income families by providing the resources and advocacy to help them become self-reliant and thriving members of the community.
• The ARC Westchester–24-hour Crisis Hotline 914-949-8200 The largest agency in Westchester County supporting children, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum, and their families.
• Center for Autism and Related Disorders at 914-670-1155 CARD leads the world in the effective treatment of autism, guided by science and inspired by compassion, to help people with autism and their families thrive.
• Gilda’s Club at 914-644-8844 free support, education, healthy lifestyle, and social programs for anyone impacted by any type of cancer residing in New York or Connecticut

Animal Care

• Humane Society of Westchester at 914-632-2925 The Humane Society of Westchester, founded in 1911 as the New Rochelle Humane Society, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the human/animal bond through the compassionate care and treatment of animals throughout the communities we serve in Westchester County and beyond. Services include, lost & found animals, animal rescue, trap, neuter, and return, and pet friendly housing.
• SPCA Westchester at 914-941-2896 SPCA Westchester is a no-kill, 501(c)3 not-for-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving homeless, abused and abandoned animals and to protecting animals from cruelty and neglect through education and enforcement of humane laws. Programs include, rescue and adoption, Cody’s Clinic, pet safety, behavior enrichment, and surrendering/rehoming a pet.
