Lucky 13th!

The roof construction has moved far enough along so that we can resume onsite services on Tuesday, October 13. We will have regular Curbside Pickup and Browsing by Appointment (including the Children’s Room) hours. There will bins outside for returns from 9am to 4:30pm. We aren’t charging for any overdues, so you don’t have to rush to get things back on Tuesday. Holds sent to us from other libraries will be delayed, as they still have to be quarantined upon arrival here. Librarians will be answering phones at the usual times and hours (914) 834-2281 x.3 for Adult and x4 for the Children’s Room) Finally, if you had something already on the Holds Shelf before we closed for construction, please pick it up by the Wednesday, October 14th. Read More Read More

We are raising the roof!

We are raising the roof!

And then putting down a brand new one over our Children’s Room. This means we will be closed starting Sunday, Oct. 4. We anticipate resuming our current schedule on Tuesday, October 13th. There are a lot of things to explain so let’s get started:

  • We’ve scheduled extra curbside pickup sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings so you can get your books before we close. There will be no curbside sessions during the closure.
  • Browsing sessions are unchanged leading up to the closure, but sessions are usually underbooked and walk-ins are welcome.

A note about voting forms

A note about voting forms

We’ve been putting absentee ballot applications and voter registration forms in front of the library over the past few weeks. We will not be able to do so during construction. The last day to register to vote for the Nov. 3 General Election is Oct. 9, 2020. If you mail in your registration, it must be postmarked by that day (and received by the Board of Elections by Oct. 14). You can register in person as well. If you miss getting one of the forms we put out, don’t worry.Read More Read More

Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week

Just what you’ve been waiting for – it’s Banned Books Week! We’ve pulled a fine selection of them for display, so you don’t have to slink into the stacks to find them. Revisit old favorites, and maybe find some new “Banned in Boston” titles. In case you can’t make it into the library, click on “Read More” below to see the books. All of them are available for download via Overdrive/Libby. Remember, the only person who should decide what you read is you.Read More Read More

Service Update – July 23

Service Update – July 23

Although we have no earth shattering news to report at the moment, there are a few things you should be aware of- a lot has changed (for the time being) concerning holds, browsing, returns and curbside pickup. Let’s all try to get on the same page!

Holds (from near and far) – Deliveries between all of the libraries in Westchester County (except for White Plains) have begun! This means thatRead More Read More

Deliveries to resume next week

Deliveries to resume next week

We will start getting deliveries from other libraries in the County next week. We expect this will unleash a deluge of long delayed holds (both incoming and outgoing) and returns. Other libraries who have already begun deliveries found this to be the case. We believe we have a good system in place to handle this, but you, our patrons, can help lighten the initial load. Please go through your account to make sure there aren’t any open holds which you no longer want. If there is something you don’t want right away, please suspend the hold.Read More Read More

Make an appointment to visit the Library

Want to come in and browse our collection? Make an appointment. Children’s sessions are 10 – 12 Tuesday through Friday and 9-11 on Saturdays. Adult and Teen sessions are 1-3 Tuesday through Friday and 11-1 on Saturdays. Please read our Browsing Appointments FAQ first.

Curbside pickup is running smoothly (although Tropical Storm Fay forced us to improvise a little). If you haven’t used it yet, see the Curbside FAQ for details.

We are accepting returns 9am to 4:30pm on weekdays and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. Place library items only into one of the marked bins in front of the Library.Read More Read More
