Limited Browsing

Limited Browsing is now available Monday through Saturday 1-4:30 pm. This means masked, socially distanced patrons can wander through our stacks to look for something to read, to watch or to listen. You can also check out holds. Browsing for the Adult/Teen rooms does not require an appointment. Patrons may walk-in Monday-Saturday 1pm-4:30pm. Appointments are still suggested for the Children’s Room. Although appointments are not mandatory, they will guarantee admittance at your chosen time. If you haven’t used Browsing before, we suggest you look at the FAQ. Public computers, seating and study spaces are not available at this time.Read More Read More

Need help with the vaccine process?

Westchester County Executive George Latimer has instructed the County’s Department of Seniors Programs & Services (DSPS) to use all available resources to help the County’s senior population navigate the vaccine appointment process.  DSPS has an information and assistance phone line that is available to assist Westchester’s seniors on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at 914-813-6300. Bear in mind that many seniors are not too internet savvy. Please share this number with anyone you know of who might find it useful.Read More Read More

Forms and Printing at the Library

Forms and Printing at the Library

Right about now people start making their annual pilgrimage to the Library in search of tax forms. Tax forms will be discussed later in this post, but first a word about printing in general. We understand that many people rely on Library computers to print out things they need for their life such as DMV forms and the like. The fact that our building is closed does not mean we can’t still help you. We will print what you need and you can get it using Curbside Pickup. Here’s what you do: Read More Read More

Missed your curbside appointment?

Missed your curbside appointment?

Now you will have an extra week to pick up your poor, sad, forgotten items. Just make an appointment for a date within that week and we’ll put them out again. This is not an automatic process. You must make a new appointment.

Please continue to make every effort to meet your original curbside appointments. Preparing curbside pickup is a complicated, labor-intensive task and keeping track of second-chance pickups does not make it easier. However, we understand that life sometimes gets in the way so we are happy to provide this additional service.Read More Read More

We are raising the roof!

We are raising the roof!

And then putting down a brand new one over our Children’s Room. This means we will be closed starting Sunday, Oct. 4. We anticipate resuming our current schedule on Tuesday, October 13th. There are a lot of things to explain so let’s get started:

  • We’ve scheduled extra curbside pickup sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings so you can get your books before we close. There will be no curbside sessions during the closure.
  • Browsing sessions are unchanged leading up to the closure, but sessions are usually underbooked and walk-ins are welcome.

Deliveries to resume next week

Deliveries to resume next week

We will start getting deliveries from other libraries in the County next week. We expect this will unleash a deluge of long delayed holds (both incoming and outgoing) and returns. Other libraries who have already begun deliveries found this to be the case. We believe we have a good system in place to handle this, but you, our patrons, can help lighten the initial load. Please go through your account to make sure there aren’t any open holds which you no longer want. If there is something you don’t want right away, please suspend the hold.Read More Read More
