Children's Room closes at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays
All Library materials checked out prior to June 1 were renewed through June 30th. As such, we have 5,000 items that are due TODAY, July 1st! It is fitting, therefore, to explain how we are handling returns going forward.
Starting next Monday, June 29, we will stop answering calls at (914) 734-5362. Instead of that number’s limited hours, we will have 9-5 coverage (9-1 on Saturdays) at the old Reference number, 834-2281 x. 3 and the Children’s Room will be answering extension 4. We added these services because we are allowed more staff in the building. We expect to add more services in the very near future. Stay tuned.Read More Read More
We’ve added some services. We’ve added Saturday morning curbside pickups to our roster of available times. Now we have a librarian in the building answering 834-2281 x. 3. from 9 – 5 weekdays and 9-1 Saturdays. That means we can help with curbside and we can set aside items for non-Larchmont cardholders for curbside pickup if the items are on the shelf. We are getting ready to start curbside pickup. You must make an appointment to pick up your hold. To start, we will have appointments only on weekdays during the day. More on that later. First, there are some things you can do to get ready too.
We are ramping up the restoration of limited onsite services. You can help us prioritize our future efforts (and also give us feedback on how we did in the past) by filling out our survey. There are no required questions, so it shouldn’t take too long. However, if you haven’t yet filled out the mandatory and most important survey, the 2020 Census, do that first. We know you’re all tired of looking at the same sad pile of long-read Library books and over-watched DVDs and are itching to return them. Well that time is now! Starting Thursday, May 28th there will be book bins outside the Library from 9am-12noon Monday through Friday. Please keep a few things in mind:
Although we are still a ways off from returning to anything like business as usual, we are planning for that wonderful day. Please go through your account and cancel holds on everything you don’t want anymore. This will ease the burden on the staff and, more importantly, the computer system when we do begin to resume nonvirtual services.
