Volunteering at the Library- An Update

Volunteering at the Library- An Update

Our adult volunteer program is an excellent way for people to stay connected to the library while also helping us manage small tasks such as keeping the shelves in order, weeding books and helping with programs.

At the moment, we are not looking to take on any new adult volunteers. Our high volume of applicants (thank you for applying!) and our volume of volunteer work do not match up. This does not mean that you cannot apply for volunteer work at the library- you are more than welcome to submit an application online and we will keep it on file for the future.Read More Read More

Book & Puzzle Donations- A Reminder

Book & Puzzle Donations- A Reminder

We just wanted to remind our wonderful patrons (and everyone else!) that the Larchmont Library does not accept any book donations. We appreciate that you think of us when wanting to donate  but the library simply does not have the room to store excess books. There are a number of local spots to donate books, including some nearby public libraries such as New Rochelle and Mamaroneck.

The same goes for donating jigsaw puzzles- we do not have ample room to store excess puzzles. Each year, we hold two Puzzle Swaps, where people can come to drop off puzzles and pick up new ones.Read More Read More

The Frick Museum Pass Has Arrived

The Frick Museum Pass Has Arrived

The Friends of the Larchmont Public Library have graciously allowed us to purchase a pass for the newly renovated (and re-opened) Frick Collection in Manhattan. As some of you might recall, the library had a pass for the Frick pre-Covid. The Frick underwent a huge renovation shortly thereafter so we have been without this pass for about four years!

Please book your pass online or give us a call at the Information Desk (914) 834-2281, ext. #3 and we can do it for you. The Frick pass comes with two membership cards, each good for one person to enter the museum for free.Read More Read More

What’s the LPL Staff Reading This Week?

What’s the LPL Staff Reading This Week?

When the staff at the Larchmont Library isn’t busy working, there’s a good chance they might be… you guessed it- reading! We rounded up a few staff members to see what books they’re reading this week. And of course, all of these titles are available through the library as books, eBooks and eAudiobooks.

Laura Pizzuti- Counting Miracles by Nicholas Sparks was an easy, enjoyable read. I liked all the characters, the pace of the story and the ending. If you are a fan of other Nicholas Sparks books, this one does not disappoint!Read More Read More

The Library’s Puzzle-Lending Program

The Library’s Puzzle-Lending Program

If you visit the library, you might have noticed we have an entire shelf of jigsaw puzzles. You might also have wondered… what’s that about? Well, besides grabbing a book or movie for the colder weekends at home, you can also grab a puzzle (or two) as well! We have a wide array of puzzles, varying in sizes (mostly 500 & 1000 piece) and subjects. You are more than welcome to check out a puzzle by bringing it to the Information Desk and giving the librarian your library card. There is no real time limit on how long you can keep the puzzle- just return it when you’re done!Read More Read More
