Jane Goodall: The Chimps & A Power for Good

Jane Goodall: The Chimps & A Power for Good

March 2 – 30

Reception: Saturday, March 14th from 2-4pm

We are proud to feature this exhibit in honor of Women’s History Month because Dr. Jane Goodall is a powerful example of being a force for good in the world. After she passed away in October 2025, our grandfather showed us photographs he took of Dr. Goodall in Tanzania. We then learned more about her life through his photos, by reading articles, and watching documentaries. We were inspired by the impact of Dr. Goodall’s work, her time with chimpanzees, and her dedication to protecting the environment.Read More Read More

Bedford Audubon: From Near and Far: Celebrating Birds Across the Americas

Bedford Audubon: From Near and Far: Celebrating Birds Across the Americas

February 2 – 27

Reception: Sunday, February 8 2-4pm

From Near and Far: Celebrating Birds Across the Americas is a selection of bird photographs captured by Bedford Audubon members throughout the Americas. Beyond the birds we see locally, both year-round residents and migratory species, there is a vast array of fascinating bird species we never experience here in New York – almost 11,000 species globally! This exhibit visually showcases some of the most photogenic bird species from all parts of the Americas while answering some of the questions you might have about our migratory birds as they travel along aerial “flyways” extending from North America south to Mexico, Central America, and as far south as the tip of South America: where do “our” birds go when they head south, how far do they travel, and what other bird species do they encounter on their wintering grounds?Read More Read More

It Is The Thought That Counts paintings by Larry Gordon

It Is The Thought That Counts paintings by Larry Gordon

July 1 – July 31

My years as an architect have influence my art and informed my work. the painting and drawings begin with a formal liner structure. The grid is then manipulated, changed and removed. I use transparency, overlapping shapes and images.

My paintings aim at a joyful and playful celebration of color. I have used contrast between vertical banding and the sharp curves that play against it, inflecting the entire surface with a counterpoint between straight and curving rhythmic beats. I have eliminated the distinctions between ground and figure upon which traditional composition depends.Read More Read More
